HANS
HANS is a small-scale handling system that is used for the experimental evaluation of new methods in automation and control under industry-related conditions. The plant contains two pneumatic grippers, which can be used to move workpieces between different positions, e.g. on a conveyor belt, on a storage unit or on a heating block. The components of the plant can be used to develop numerous discrete event and hybrid dynamical processes.
This plant is integrated in the research activities of the institute and is used to test newly developed control methods. Moreover, HANS is also destined for education as part of lab courses as well as for bachelor and master theses.
